ANOTHER POST ON THE WATER BIRDS AT ST. JAMES PARK, LONDON

The Graylag Goose

I believe this is a Ross's Goose.  I went here to identify it.

Thanks to Simon at Careening Through Nature, I now know this is a Great-crested Grebe. Thank you Simon!

Coot chick

Ruddy Shelduck.  I had never seen any before my holiday last June.

I am sharing with the following, with my thanks to Anni and Stewart for two great memes. You can see other participants by visiting their links.

Beautiful birds! I made friends with a beautiful Greylag goose in a nature park and few years ago and I shared some photos of her way back on my blog. She walked right up to me and made it so easy for me to take photos of her. :)

What strange furrowed feathers on the goose's neck! I'm not familiar with the ducks, they are an interesting color, and the 4th photo is so comical with its feathers sticking up so jauntily on its head, Denise!

Mystery bird is a great crested grebe, although it looks a bit odd somehow!
