TODAY'S FLOWERS # 341

"Daffodowndilly has come to town,
In a yellow petticoat and a green gown."

~Author unknown~
Traditional Rhyme

Luiz Santilli Jnr created Today's Flowers and asked me a few years ago to take over his role as host.  I was very happy to do so.  He occasionally pops in to say hello, so "Hello Luiz and thank you!"

Today's Flowers' home page can be found here.

  7. Good morning Denise, the rhyme is so cute! How did the author come up with the word "Daffodowndilly"? There is such a fun and sweet ring to it. Your photos are perfect for this rhyme: I can see Ms Daffodowndilly in her yellow petticoat and green gown trotting into town with a smily face! Have a glorious weekend Denise. Christa

  16. Oh Denise thank you! They are so beautiful and your header shot is a work of art. A little envious and reminding myself that it is only fair to miss Spring if I missed winter. But more grateful than jealous ... Thanks for sharing the bounty!

  20. Thanks for the cheerful daffs, my heart always lifts at the sight of them. Even on a day when the cooler weather reminds me our winter is fast approaching.

  21. Oh gosh you are clever with your....

    When all at once I saw a crowd,
    A host, of golden daffodils;
    Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
    Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

    What do you mean that wasn't you it was Wordsworth?!!
    Have a great week

  29. Oh Denise, the little verse is so cute. Daffodils are not my favourite flowers, but I very much like the tiny variation of them in your pretty pictures. I also like the contrast between their yellow and the amazing blue of the grape hyacinths!

    Thank you for hosting that lovely meme!!!
