GONE FISHING

A bird I have shared before, the Green Heron.

This is a repeat but it goes with the one above.

I am linking with Anni's Bird D'Pot, Michelle's Nature Notes and Stewart's Wild Bird Wednesday.

Thank you Anni, Michelle and Stewart for these very enjoyable memes.

Wow, you captured him just as he was diving! We have seen the blue, but never the green.I think they are very secretive.

Terrific shots, Denise!

In te UK we are used to the tall, long necked grey heron and little egret, and thus this bird, and the other squat herons like the night heron and the squacco heron look bloody weird to us!

We have the blue heron and are not happy when he eats our fish and frogs.

His legs are much shorter than many of the other herons. If I've ever seen one, I didn't recognize it!

Have a great week.

Two brilliant shots.

Loved the 'bottom's up' shot. It's rare to see a butt on pictures... smiles.

Love both shots (glad I'm not the only one who takes 'tails up' photos.

It seems like I read somewhere that the Green Heron is the Audubon Society's bird of the year.
