THANK YOU THERESA

I had exciting news a couple of days ago.  I learned that I had won Theresa's December artwork, her beautiful portrait of a bear.  You can see it here at her blog, The Run *A* round Ranch Report.  This couldn't have made me happier, it certainly made my week, I am thrilled! Thank you Theresa!

Now for my contribution to Good Fences.  These photos are from the middle of last September, and people are dressed accordingly.  We were making our way out of Washington DC and spotted the Segway Tour.   My first photo has the Eisenhower Executive Building in the background, and I think you will also recognize The White House.   Click on the names to find more info.  I included this particular segway tour as it has super photos of the city I thought you would enjoy seeing.

Thank you Theresa at The Run*A*Round Ranch Report for continuing another great meme.  Click on the blog link to see other participants, and the button below to find out more information.

i like that touring group. that last fence doesn't look like it would keep much back, though! :)

I remember when segways were first introduced. I don't think they really caught on in the way the makers wanted them to.

Beautiful shots of the surroundings, Denise!

That's a lot of Segways! I wonder if they use them a lot in D.C.? I was born and raised there. Love peeking through the fence at everything.

Good Morning Denise. Congrats on winning the drawing, it is beautiful. Great fence scenes.. I think I would be chicken to ride on one of those segways.. But, it is a neat way to tour a city.. Have a happy day!

Fences exist where once there were none. For a while, I ate lunch several times a month with a friend who worked in the Old Executive Office building. My office was at 1710 h Street NW.

Loved this area and know it well. Thanks for sharing, and congratulations on your award.

Around noon many days, my boss Jim and I walked around the White House at noon. Sometimes we walked up to Dupoint Circle and bought ice cream.

I ate lunch some days with Bill, the man I was seeing at the time, who took the Metro from the Pentagon to Farragut Square and we met in Layfayette Park. There we ate our lunch.

Later, when he worked on K Street, David and I met for lunch.

Today Jersey barriers are every where. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

PS Farragut (in F Square)was my granddaughters ancestor.

Way to go on winning the Bear drawing, it's really cool looking.
Great shots of the tourists here and the fences. Those 2 wheel things (have no clue what you call them) are fun.

How neat that you won Theresa's wonderful drawing. We saw a Segway tour buzzing around in Anchorage this summer, which quite surprised me! They look like fun, except for the broken leg I'm sure I'd end up with. Such a beautiful area there!

didn't know people still had those segway things

The wooden paling fence looks rather flimsy. I've never seen a Segway before.
