Random Photo

I had never seen pine cones and pine needles on a beach before.  A line of pine trees edged a beach we visited the last time we were in Florida and though that looks like snow, it is in fact white sand.

Wow, a trick of the eye. It looks like it is growing right out of the ground! And the sand does look just like snow.

I agree with Ginny's comment, Denise. I love this!

Love the colour and textures in this shot.

Reminiscent of Baltic beaches where resin turned to amber many, many years ago. Along the eastern shore of the Baltic sea the pines grow right down to the water which is nowhere as saline as that of the North Sea because of so many huge rivers flowing into it.

Nice effect and, yes, I thought it was snow at first glance.

Ooops, I also thought it was snow. How Christmassy, I thought.

I have never seen them around the beach either and have spent plenty of time around beaches --- great post.

I love this photo. Reminds me of years past when pine needles and cones on sand were fairly common. We kids used to scoop up the needles and make "walls" and "beds" with them.

Read the book 'Longleaf' about the great pine forests that once covered the SE coast of North America.

That is so pretty! I like the browns against the clean, pale sand. I could look at that all day.

I would love to be on a beach where the sand is as white as that! You think of a location with palm trees
rather than pine trees. Thanks for spotting, capturing and sharing this unusual sight.

My daughter is fond of collecting them. There are so many now. :)
Nice pic.

I too thought it was snow :) Cool!

My first thought was snow, too! I find a lot of pinecones on the beach although the trees are not usually very close to the beach. My mind doesn't comprehend such things!
