CAMERA CRITTERS AND SATURDAY'S CRITTERS

Today I am sharing the cows we found while driving around the Dartmoor National Park in south Devon, England.   Dartmoor is a place I visited often from the age of eight years old, and I was very happy to be back again after many years.

Beautiful animals  who didn't mind us being among them, and who gave us long, curious stares while relaxing in the warm sunshine.

They roam freely on the Moors.

I am joining Misty's Camera Critters and Eileen's Saturday's Critters.  You can find their buttons on my side-bar.  Thank you for hosting ladies.

  6. We call these black and white cows Oreos! The breed is from Scotland. It is nice that they are treated well. Cows also have curiosity! They will come over to see me and what's going on.

  14. It must have been great to be back on the moors. I use to roam them when I was around 8 too ! I wasn't born in England but we lived there quite a while ( years actually) with my dads work when I was younger and I loved it there !
The who with the cows laying down and the moors seen in the background gives me memories :)

  17. Lovely to see your shots of the cattle on Dartmoor. They seem to be very happy and I love to see them free. I hate intensive farming methods for all kinds of reasons.

  20. It is interesting to go back to where you are from originally - I was back in the UK for a month a while ago.

If you have a look at my "other blog" - link on the photoblog- you can read how I reacted to my first few days.

  25. I always thought of a moor as a spooky place. I blame Sherlock Holmes. These cattle seem quite content there, though.

  26. These cows are so cute. Great pictures of them. We have 5 cows on our farm. They are very friendly and don't mind us being around at all.
