A very special group of friends

Last Sunday Gregg and I spent a very special time with old friends.
Two of those friends had moved to one of our southern states a few years back and came up for a wedding.  Another two have moved out of town but fortunately within a reasonable distance so that we can still get together once in a while.  We were all so happy that we were able to get together for this special occasion, and had a lovely lunch at The Hunter's Head Tavern in Upperville, link here.  I am sharing a few photos we took that day.

  1. In my lifetime, I have found that friends are better than siblings. Lots better.

  2. I agree with RoeH, and just wanted to say, good friends making good times together are indeed gold...in your memories, and now in photos. Love having all these cameras, don't you?

  3. For years we drove out Route 50 to one picturesque place or another for lunch. This and the Red Fox Tavern were favorites. Another was a tavern in Leesburg. Had the word green in its name. We ate many holiday meals there. Now that I am on a restricted diet, and arthritis has set in, we limit ourselves to closer venues.

I loved your photos of that dragonfly. How cooperative it was to wait for you to bring a macro lens for a close up.

  12. Splendid group portraits, Denise!

Of that menu, the only thing that wouldn't appeal is the salmon; I'm not fond of seafood. The rest sounds delicious!

  17. It looks lovely. Daunting to my anti-social self, but lovely. And I am thrilled that you OBVIOUSLY had a wonderful time.
