NATURE NOTES, WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY AND BIRD D'POT

Peekaboo.....I see you!

This House Finch pair were having breakfast one morning when I opened the curtains.  A very nice sight to start my morning off.

Today I am linking with Michelle's Nature NotesStewart's Wild Bird Wednesday and the next Anni's Bird D'Pot.  Thanks for hosting these wonderful meme's, always very enjoyable.

What a wonderful sight. I take it they are wild finches. We only have finches in cages in the lower part of Western Australia but up north they are in their thousands. I've had finches in a very large cage since about 1986 so many, many generations of them in there now. They began as plain zebra finches but there are now white and fawn ones as well. Very cute little fellows.

How lovely, when the herring gulls get cheeky they tap on our windows and doors and sit on the back of the patio chairs staring in...I have a photo somewhere which I will find and post!

That would make my morning special! We used to have house finches on our feeders when we had our home in Oregon.

I've never seen little finches here on the farm until yesterday, I think they must have escaped from captivity. Do hope they survive. They are such cute little birds, aren't they?
