NATURE NOTES AND WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY - Tufted Titmouse

We only had three inches of snow here in our part of Virginia, and the day after the temperature was brisk but the skies were sunny and a bright blue.  It has been a while since I took photos of birds but I refilled the water bowl, threw some peanuts out and filled the birdfeeder.  The first to arrive was this little Tufted Titmouse.  He was a welcome sight.  I took several photos of him which I decided to post for Michelle's Nature Notes and Stewart's Wild Bird Wednesday.  Thanks for hosting Michelle and Stewart.

Here he is eating the snow.

Fabulous pictures, Denise, especially that last one. I love the little tufted tit but haven't seen one since I was abroad. I don't think we get them here anymore.

What a pretty bird. I didn't realize birds ate snow. I guess that might be the only way to get moisture. Still, I'm glad it doesn't make them lose body temperature.

In my current over heated state I don't know whether I like the Tufted Titmouse of the snow more. Either of them would be more than welcome here.

Lovely images Denise. That bird blends in very nicely with the colourings of the snow and background.
