Bath time for a Blue Jay

It was very hot here in Virginia today,  91 deg F.  Supposed to be even hotter tomorrow.  The Blue Jay was enjoying a nice cool bath not long after I had filled the water bowl.

I am linking with Stewart's Wild Bird Wednesday which you can find here.   Thank you for hosting Stewart, this is a very enjoyable meme and one I enjoy participating in.

  8. So cute. We have to put ice cubes in our bird bath twice a day, it's been so hot hot hot....don't want to scald the birds.

  9. Whenever it rains a puddle forms at the bottom of the driveway across the street from our house. The birds love to bathe there. It has been hot here too. The neighbors are using a water sprinkler to water their plants. I watched the birds flutter around the sprinkler. They were enjoying the water sprinkles.

  10. It was always the humidity that went with the temps in Virginia that always did me in. :)
I don't blame Mr. Blue Jay for sitting in the bowl of water!

  17. What a pretty bird. Water is so important for birds throughout the year but particularly at the extremes of cold and heat.
