Earth Day

Did you know that there are more trees in America now than there were a hundred years ago?  We contain 8 percent of the world's natural forests. Trees store CO2, produce oxygen which is necessary for all life on earth, removes toxins from the air and create habitat for animals, insects and more basic forms of life.  There is a very interesting article here and where I read the above information, and lots more.

  12. I vaguely remember the very first Earth Day back in 1970 I think. It seems that the big concern way back then was the supersonic transports, (SST's). Their emissions were going to cool the earth. I think a lot of good has happened. It seems for instance that the air in Southern California is lots cleaner than what I remember.
