A few days ago.....

we had 24 hours of snow.  One of my friendly neighborhood squirrels stopped by to see what he could find.

He foraged.....

and found.

Our snow didn't hang around long.  Even though it was pretty heavy for a while it was very wet and slushy.....

and by the next day it had all gone and the weather was back to sunshine.  Squirrel came back...
.

and enjoyed his peanuts, but he didn't have to forage too hard for them this time.

The End, for now.  He'll be the star in one of my posts not too far down the road I'm sure.

  3. I have heard that your squirrels can be pests - but we don't have them and all I can think is how cute they are. Loved this post - thank you.

  6. Our weather is the same, snow one day, clear the next. And more to come, they say. Squirrels have been enjoyed the apples, pears, toast, suet, peanuts, dried grubs and seed put out for the birds....grins. I'd love to know what his staple diet SHOULD be.

  7. Fantastic photos, and so cute. I have to say I am glad we have no squirrels or I would be fighting a loosing battle feeding my wild birds! Take care Diane

  8. He is so cute. I wish we had them here. We have little desert squirrels sort of - about the size of chipmunks, but they stay far away from people.

  9. Aren't they one of the cutest of God's creatures? It just gives me the willies though when I think they are just a rat with a bushy tail. :) Cute little boogers though!

  11. Endearing, cute and demons if they gain access to your attic.

It's never happened to us thank goodness, but I've heard of some unpleasant stories.
