TODAY'S FLOWERS # 232 - February 2nd, 2013

The link to Today's Flowers is now open.  To see beautiful blooms from around the world you can click here.

In the midst of winter here in Virginia, I have once again gone into my archives and found a memory of a trip to Hawaii several years ago, to the Dole Pineapple Plantation and visiting their Hibiscus Garden.  I was amazed to see how many different varieties of color there were and the feeling of seeing them for the first time was truly magical.  I have picked the yellow hibiscus today, which if I remember is the State Flower of Hawaii.  This is dedicated to all my Hawaiian Friends and to the people of Hawaii.  Aloha!

This will be a message repeated every week.

From now on I want to show my appreciation for all the participants in the previous week's Today's Flowers Meme, by sharing their links here.  I always try hard not to make any mistakes but please let me know if there are any, the same if I have missed anyone.  They are in the order they were received on the home page.  Consequently, this list won't be alphabetical.  Clicking on the names will take you to their blogs.

With my thanks to last week's participants who were:

  3. I did a post about the yellow hibiscus a long time ago and a friend told me she took a class where they were told it had to have a red center. I looked on the web and I don't see anything conclusive on it. I love your yellow hibiscus, Denise. They've planted them everywhere around the island now.

  5. I photographed so many Hibiscus during our Hawaiian vacation in 2010. I had never seen so many different colors of the flower before that trip. It is a pretty flower, and your yellow Hibiscus is lovely.

  6. I love hibiscus! I used to have a lovely red one that I would 'gauge' each day with, depending on how many blossoms it greeted me with each morning. "Oh, today's a 3 blossom day!" I'd forgotten about that until just now.

  9. That's a pretty shot of our State flower. I have planted many hibiscuses of different colors, but they always get eaten by white flies and die. Sad!
