Gray-slated Junco

These are winter visitors in my garden.  When the weather gets warmer they disappear and fly north until the next long, cold spell.

Today I am also joining in with Anni's Bird D'Pot Meme.  Click here to see other feathered friends from all over..

It's beautiful to see birds at this time of year, where they are hiding from the cold! Love your photos!

Denise, they are pretty winter visitors. It is wierd that not far away in Shenandoah they are year round birds. Great photos!

That 2nd shot is real nice, this is one bird that is hard to catch the gleem in their eye.

I didn't realize that certain birds like to migrate to colder climates. Nice pics, Denise!

They migrate to the Boreal forest in Canada. Great shots. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

Hi Denise! I am late this week. I took the entire weekend off and did absolutely nothing!

I love this little guy and your shots. I am pretty sure I have some pictures of the same bird. But, I did not know the name.

I will have to do some checking up on my photos before next week.

Thanks for sharing this beautiful little creature with us!

Happy day! :-)
