Last week it snowed but it only lasted for a day and ended up being wet and slushy. By the next morning ninety-nine percent of it had gone.
"Hey, why did you put my food on ice?"
"I don't like this at all!"
"It's like cracking open a marble!"
I tried to tell him I didn't have control of the weather.....
but he wasn't listening and most of the time I was talking to his retreating derriere.
For all his complaints it did not stop him from coming back.
As it continued to snow he found shelter underneath one of the deck rails, and for added warmth he curled his tail over his head. I think I saw him get a tiny hammer out to crack open that peanut as he shot me 'the look'.
"See you tomorrow little buddy. I'll ask for the snow to go away" and you know what? It did!

Hi Denise,
I love your photos! Happy New Year to you! :)
I like how they hold their tail to stay warm.I go through lots of peanuts to amuse myself.
I am always amazed at how guilty I feel for things, like the weather, that inconvenience the birds and animals around me.
Wonderful photos - thank you.
You enchant with your Lil pals!
Aloha
I loved it! I hate to go home on Saturday. :(
What a cutie! It weren't for you, he'd starve!
Cute series, Denise! Your squirrel friends are very happy with you, keep those peanuts coming. Have a happy day!
Snow... oh my! So far so good here, except for the rain. I really feel for the animals when it snows.
Is there anything more magical, than snow at Christmas, even for just one day !
Your squirrel friend is so sweet..
Wishing you and Greg a Happy New Year!
Love,
~Jo

Your visitor must be happy to get some food from you in such cold weather. A delightful series of photos.

Lovely shots of the animals during your day of snow. Happy New Year!

Squirrels are really lovely to watch, we have one who visits the bird feeder by balancing along the fence below then stretching up to get one nut at a time, soon giving up probably because it is hard work. Love your photos.
really cute, denise. :)
Dear Denise, you prepared such a "treat", a lovely post for us, thanks so much! I'm always enchanted by these adorable critters,
Lights and love to your heart!

Cute!! My mom used to befriend the squirrels on our back deck. She had 4 or 5 and had them all named. They would come up and take (cookies) out of her hand. She had to be careful not to leave the sliding glass door open or they would come right in!!
I just love your squirrel posts -- he has such a cute personality ;>)!) Thanks for taking good care of him and sharing the antics.
That's the first time I've seen squirrel prints in the snow. You keep him well fed! He's a cute little fellow.
Happy new year Denise. That is one cheeky little squirrel indeed.
Gorgeous pictures of the squirrel!
Love that first picture of the foot prints!
You know what? I'm missing those squirrels now that I'm looking at your photos. We only have mongoose here and they're not nearly as cute.
