Monday Poem

"Stone walls do not a prison make,
Nor iron bars a cage;
Minds innocent of quiet take
That for an hermitage;
If I have freedom in my love
And in my soul am free,
Angels alone that sore above
Enjoy such liberty."

I find myself often looking in older cemeteries for statues like this. You don't seem them these days. I suppose expense and size limits in some cemeteries.
Lovely!

A perfect choice for this day and age I think Denise. And your photo is picture post card perfect.

Neat shot with a great poem.

I found it amusing, how this angel... is made of stone (albeit man-made). That was for me, a point to ponder as I sat thinking about this poem.

I like the idea of taking pics at cemeteries, but I haven't done it yet. I'll bet you can get some beautiful shots of those sculptures, especially in the right kind of lighting.
