Still on line....

and not going anywhere today thanks to Hurricane Sandy.  I just got this off the Google public alert system.  You can enlarge it to read and see more clearly.

The last time we had really bad weather was several years ago when a tornado touched down two miles away.  Our trees out back just about bent double, and those are pretty darned big trees.  We'll see how they do over the next couple of days.

For all those out there who are in its path I am sending good thoughts your way, please stay safe.

  4. I called my daughter this morning. She and hers are using as much power as possible. Her post today is funny. I actually wish I was there to be able to see it. Not that I'm willing any tragedy onto anyone.

  10. I hope you and Gregg stay safe. And with power too, should the Lord will. I understand that cell phone networks come under exceptional strain at these times, too.

  13. We're watching it all. We're pretty far inland, but are feeling lots of wind, cold, rain. Son and family near Washington DC are doing OK so far.

  14. Hi Denise,
As of 11:00pm my area looks like it will stay just warm enough to miss any snow. Not sure if I'm happy or glad about that.
The wind is roaring outside. I hope we don't lose power. The waiting is the hardest part. My son is supposed to fly back from Dallas into there tomorrow. Hope he still can.
    Stay in and stay warm!
