We took a walk through the woods today.....

Shafts of light
Through cathedral windows,

Dapple shade
Upon the leaves

     Beneath my feet.

Bird song
 In the branches above,
In the distance
Hind and fawn
Cross the forest track.

The sweetest fragrance
Fills the misty air
A gentle breeze
Moving colors to the forest floor.

So precious
Such beauty,
So hard to find
Such peaceful sanctuary.

  5. LOVE the second shot. That is very cool. I like to visit in that area in the summertime because of all the green. But I can't take the humidity of Washington DC so I kind of quit going there in those months. I think this year I will go there at Christmas time.

  10. The leaves from the woods so sweet,
With sun casting shadows in the heat.
