Shafts of light
Through cathedral windows,
Dapple shade
Upon the leaves
Bird song
In the branches above,
In the distance
Hind and fawn
Cross the forest track.
The sweetest fragrance
Fills the misty air
A gentle breeze
Moving colors to the forest floor.
So precious
Such beauty,
So hard to find
Such peaceful sanctuary.

so lovely
It does look like a sanctuary. Very green, very pretty.
Such lush foliage... Oooh I love walking in woods. I like the poem, Denise, I'd like to borrow it if that's okay with you.
Very pretty and peaceful. Nice place for a walk.

LOVE the second shot. That is very cool. I like to visit in that area in the summertime because of all the green. But I can't take the humidity of Washington DC so I kind of quit going there in those months. I think this year I will go there at Christmas time.
Now I feel nice and peaceful too. Thank you for these photos.
Perfect shots for the poem.

Very lovely walk, Denise, and it looks no cool as well as being very lushly colorful.
The leaves from the woods so sweet,
With sun casting shadows in the heat.
