Gregg's sister has just spent the most amazing month in China. She teaches at a university and along with faculty and students visited several cities. There were some very interesting stories that came out of this trip, one that stands out in my mind was that of a student who had appendicitis. However, all turned out well, as thanks to the exemplary care she received in a wonderful hospital, where she said she received much kindness and compassion from the medical staff, she was able to rejoin the trip shortly afterwards. I'm sure she had to take it a little easier for a while but now she's back in the US. I can't imagine how scared she must have been but she came through with flying colors and now she has a "you'll never guess what happened to me while I was in China" tale.
My sister-in-law has generously given me permission to share any of the photos she sent to the family, for which I thank her very much. The one above is of her and her son. He arrived a few days into the trip. They are standing next to this rather magnificent Sleeping Buddha and other ancient statues which are near the city of Chongqing. The photo below is a sight I would love to see one day and one of the Seven Wonders of the World, The Great Wall of China. You can read about its history here.
I am not sure where these other photos are located.

How wonderful! My sister went to China and except for the problem of in which she couldn't eat any of the food, (heck - she lost 20 pounds there - I'd love that to happen) she loved seeing it all. Especially all those sunken soldiers on horses somewhere.
all I can say is WOW!!!!
Beautiful photographs, fantastic places. I am greeting
Hi Denise, I'll have to show this post to my hubby. He worked in China (as an exchange teacher for the college where he taught) for about 4 yrs. off and on. He LOVED it.

Thanks for sharing about your sister's visit. China is an amazing country as is its history and people, even if it's not on my list of places to visit.

Thank you my dear blogging friends. I have now returned the visit and thoroughly enjoyed them.
Isn't it nice to be able to travel the world without leaving home. All thanks to others blogging about their travels. Thank your SIL for allowing you to share her travels and taking me along vicariously.
Amazing! I know she will treasure this trip always. She saw some wonderful things! Tell her thank you for letting you share them with us!
How kind of your Sister-in-law to share her photos with us. Visiting China would be awe-inspiring indeed. No wonder she kept her camera clicking.
Getting ill in a foreign country was my fear when we went to SE Asia, however, like the person you mentioned, when it happened to me in Vietnam... I was given such kind and generous assistance and support.
I'm late in finding this post Denise, but I eventually arrive. ;D)
