Camera Critters

When we were driving along the road along Skyline Drive last weekend, we spotted a deer grazing on the hillside.  The first photo has a reflection from the glass but on the left you will see the deer.    We weren't too far from Big Meadows, a favorite spot of ours where we generally find many deer.  This day, however, we were heading for the Limberlost Trail and skipped our usual walk across the meadow.

You can see the new antlers growing and he has a mouthful of tasty grass.

Yes, I think we all hope he stays away from the road.

Lovely shots Denise and its always great to spot native animals while on a drive. That young fellow looked like a regular since he was obviously using a deer path.
Is'n the velvet just aching to be felt?

He is very handsome showing off his new little velvety bumps. Great capture.

*clapping* Those are fabulous shots, well done, Denise. Did I tell you I live near to an area that is rich with deer... yet I've never seen one there. The road signs say 'beware of deer' so they must be in there, somewhere...grins.

Hi Denise! Cute captures of the deer, especially the closeup of the antler bumps. We saw some deer at the meadows the same day. Have a great weekend!

Deer: this is something you will never see in Hawaii ~ deer roaming the roadways. If you want venison for dinner, you will have to hunt in the mountains of Molokai as my brother liked to do.

One thing we always have to watch out for on back road drives here on the VA eastern shore are deer that may decide to cross or bound across the roadway. Glad the ones you saw stayed on the grass, Denise.

They are beautiful creatures, and this one looks so healthy! Wonderful set of shots Denise and let's hope that this gorgeous one is "street smart".

Never seen a deer roaming free like that, I would like to. But certainly not on the road, though.
God bless you!
