We were over at Huntley Meadows last Saturday. It is one of our favorite places to visit during the year and at every season there is something marvelous about the place.
The first time I saw the Red-winged Blackbird all those years ago I was enthralled. You can read about him here. They were everywhere and we got quite a show as nesting season is in full swing. We watched numerous times as they disappeared into the underbrush, presumably to take care of their young.
I took a very shaky video of one that landed on the rail at one of the overlooks.....
but this next one I found on YouTube is lovely and gives you a very clear view of the very beautiful bird Red-winged Blackbird.
