And who can ever forget Gene Kelly's rain dance?

"I'm singing in the rain, just singing in the rain. What a glorious feeling, I'm happy again. I'm laughing at clouds so dark up above. The sun's in my heart and I'm ready for love. Let the stormy clouds chase everyone from the place. Come on with the rain, I've a smile on my face. I walk down the lane with a happy refrain, just singin' and singin' in the rain."

Oh, what a refreshing post, Denise!
Nice post Denise, I too like to look at the beading of rain drops on the bare branches. Cool shots!
Your header is a joy and a delight.
I am also very partial to rainy days. It is raining here now, and was yesterday and will be tomorrow. The garden is drinking deep. The weeds while more numberous will be easier to lift. And the air smells so fresh after rain.
oh girl, I LOVE this video! Thanks so much for this adorable post, your pictures are very artistic and romantic!

Your photos are refreshing... we had a drizzly rain here yesterday and even thunderstorms last night -- very untypical for February in Nebraska.
Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a thoughtful comment, Denise. :)
Very pretty shots. It's pouring rain here now. Too dark yet to see how sopping everything is though.

We need rain so much and it just keeps eluding us. I think the weather should be evened out across the whole country. It should've been in the Bill of Rights or something. Eh??
I love rain too. I love your pictures, the one with reflections is very engaging, it draws me into it to observe more.
I do like this post. I saw the movie when it came out, Singing in the Rain. Loved it then. Liked your post.
Lovely poems and pics. I used to like the rain, in fact I have been known to skip along imagining I was singing and dancing with Gene Kelly. I was quite mad! I'm not so keen these days, the arthritis is worse when it rains.
Just sounds like Denise singing there.lol
That is one of my all time favourite films - and I might just wander outside and do some singing in the rain that is tumbling down at the moment lol
Thought I'd let you know that due to posting issues I'v moved my blog over to Wordpress - nothings different 'cept for a slight change in the name. (link below)
I'm still following you and will keep up to date with all your posts in my reader. Would love you to pop in when you get the time
Take care

Wonderful post, Denise! The rain can be very refreshing. I actually enjoyed the Singing in the Rain play in London. But, I also remember watching the movie with Gene Kelly. Have a great day!
What a beautiful and creative post! Just lovely shots and lovey poems to go with them. I like the one by Langston Hughes.
I love pics of raindrops! Thanks for sharing yours. Would you like some snow in trade? lol

Nice rainy day shots. That scene in the movie is a classic.
We could use some rain out here in Oklahoma.
Such pretty pictures and lovely words Denise.
Thank you so much for your recent comment on my blog. I should be back posting again within the next few days. Life has been hectic so far this year with getting my mother settled into a residential home, but now all is well. It was lovely to hear from you.

Your first 2 photos really show the beauty of the rain. I love rainy days, but we don't get many of them out west.
Beautiful photographs! I love the rain if I don't have to get out in it. (Isn't that awful). Our grandson used to want me to let the rain fall on the car windshield and not wipe it away. I kept explaining to him that I couldn't see if I didn't use the wipers and it was dangerous. But, he adores the rain and was very upset with me for getting rid of it!
These are wonderful thoughts and scenes of rain, but some rain is just too cold to dance in. We wait for the pauses between showers to dance, or run, or briskly walk.
