Lunch with the Girls

Yesterday I went over to Hazel's house for lunch, for gift-giving and enjoying the company of my British friends.  Hazel put on a marvelous spread, an afternoon tea with finger sandwiches, scones served up as we do in the old country with clotted cream and jam, and lots of delectable little sweet pastries.   Then of course there were the endless cups of tea, and a couple of glasses of sherry.  We even had a fun game of dice - I'm not sure what it's called other than Left, Right and Center, and we played for quarters.  We said we should play for dollars next time.  As we only need six of them for two games,  maybe that would be okay and pretty tame.  No high rollers here thank goodness and just as well but we did have a bit of a competitive spirit.  No I didn't win any of the games and we all said it was nice to play something that you didn't have to think too much about, other than roll the dice.  We had a great time as we always do and we don't seem to draw breath for several hours.

I'm not going to be on here much as we have company coming tomorrow for the holidays, so I will wish you all A Merry Christmas for those of us who are celebrating it, A Very Happy Holiday Season for all my other blogging friends, and To All, A Very Happy and Healthy New Year!

Merry Christmas! Looks like you girls had lots of fun. I had to google clotted cream, according to Wiki, it is not even widely know in London, so I definitely didn't know what it is. I still don't know for sure, sort of like a nutty, toasted flavor butter?

My eldest and hubby are coming tomorrow too. But my tomorrow comes before yours. Doh I just saw the date that you posted. That means your tomorrow is today so you get your family first. This is so much fun! My one friend has gone away for a few months. My clse friends are spending time with family. In a way it is a sad time of year, when extended family were so close and time spent much fun.
I love your Christmas photos. Well done. All as pretty as your flowers!
