Water

"The health of our waters is the principle measure
of how we live on the land."
~Luna Leopold~

"Water, whether still or in motion, has so great an attraction for the lover of nature, that the most beautiful landscape seems scarcely complete without it. There are no effects so fascinating
as those produced by the reflections in nature's living mirror, with their delicacy of form, ever fleeting and changing, and their subtle combinations of color."
~Montagu Pollock~

I totally agree with Montagu Pollock...water, and light too. Your new header is gorgeous...the added touch of the textured background/frame really makes it special.

What a delightful scene Denise - I can almost feel the late afternoon air on my skin and hear the birds chattering away as they jostle for the best overnight positions in the trees!

It's a terrific picture, Denise. Wouldn't it look good on a greeting card, or better still a get well card. Think of the joy it would give to the recipient.

Great quotes about the importance of water to the landscape.

I grew up in the arid southwest where water is dear and xeriscaping was common. I've gotten used to northeast Oklahoma and its abundance of water.

Denise, I love the treatment you gave this photo on your header. How did you do that? I'm just so stupid on the computer, maybe I should read some of the instructions on my photo programme . LOL.

Water is the basis of life, no wonder we are love this vital resource. As for the fashion conscious, makeup loving dollies, water was the first mirror.

Love your shot and thank you for visiting.
