TODAY'S FLOWERS

It was my 61st birthday yesterday and today I thought I would share the flowers that I received from Gregg (my husband) and Celia and Gully (my in-laws whom I also feel very blessed to call dear friends).

Gregg arrived home with a lovely vase full of red roses (I absolutely love red roses), along with other pretty white and purple flowers in the arrangement. On my birthday he gave me these cards, two before he left for work while I was still in bed having just opened my eyes, and one that was waiting for me in plain sight when I went downstairs soon afterwards. He always writes the most beautiful and sweet sentiments, and he might laugh when I tell him he is a romantic at heart but it's true.

I enjoyed them all day until he arrived back home, along with a Latte from Starbucks and a slice of their lemon cake. I didn't even wait for dinner, we chatted and caught up on the day while I drank my coffee and ate my lemon cake. The cart before the horse but that's okay, it was my birthday and it was a delicious treat.

Later that morning the doorbell rang and there on the doorstep was a nice gentleman from one of the local flower shops with this beautiful vase full of flowers which were from Celia and Gully. Such a pretty arrangement which I also love.

So my birthday was full of beautiful flowers.....

and being around them always makes me feel happy.

My son Brad called and we had a great chat, and we're also getting together tomorrow with Lisa, our daughter-in-law, celebrating my birthday and their second wedding anniversary. That was actually a while ago so we're a bit late owing to work schedules, but it worked out well because now we have two celebrations to enjoy at one of our favorite restaurants. On top of that several members of my family and friends gave me phone calls, sent cards and good wishes, and there were many birthday greetings sent to me via Facebook. It was a great birthday.
