A little diplomacy goes a long way....

Yes I am still feeding them. The squirrels are delighted, though I haven't bought any peanuts for a while, just sunflower seeds. There is a bit of a mess outside on the deck right now.

This little one seemed a bit out of sorts that day.

Oh dear!

And diplomacy too. Look at his tail Mr. Chipmunk, isn't it a fine looking tail?

He's thinking about it.

Now here's a case of the pot calling the kettle black. It never fails after eating a healthy helping of seeds, for the squirrels to collapse on the deck rail in such a pose as this. But then don't we all sometimes feel the need to nap after a bigger than normal meal?
And let's not forget to put out a cool, fresh dish of water outside for our furry and feathered friends. They really need it in this heat.

  3. I wonder if the chipmunk got its tail caught in a mousetrap.Funny shots and it appears they are really keeping you amused. I use shelled corn, it is cheap and they eat it all.My sunflowers from all the feeders are sprouting and blooming all around my yard, a added bonus.

  12. That's why we went to the shelled sun flower chips, cost a little more but sure saves the mess. Although Abe does have our small creatures spoiled and that can get a little expensive. Well time to start some chicken legs for supper, along with Stove Top and I have a salad all ready in the frig. Have a great evening and thanks for your visits.

  13. What cute little fellas, although I had a squirrel break into my potting shed and destroy lots of things...
They can be so amusing, so I forgave him.

  15. You crack me up, Denise!!! I used to have a chipmunk that I fed every day. He used to come to the sliding glass door. I even gave him his own dish. One time I was sitting out there with him and he hid under the wood pile. He kept running out, toward me, then running back to the wood pile. Each time, he got closer and closer. Finally, he ran up to me and touched my bare toe, then ran back. It was so funny!! I thought I could hear him yell, "I did it!! I touched her!!"~karen

  23. That's pretty funny. We have a bird feeder where the squirrels clean up the sunflower seeds. It drives our dogs nuts. We let them out and the squirrel runs away. Over and over we go all day long.

  26. Just adorable! I love the little chipmunks - we don't have them here, but we vacationed in the NC mountains last week and they were everywhere. Loved watching them scamper around.

  27. I think squirrels are adorable, but I don't say this out loud to my youngest daughter! They eat up her flowers and make other such messes in her townhouse in Centreville, Virginia.

My disabled daughter and I (her caregiver) live in Harrisonburg, Virginia. I see you're in Virginia, too. I found you on Strawberry Jam Anne's blog and came over to meet you.
