Below is Ken, Celia's son who came up from Florida. Ken is also the nice guy who organized the postcard project for the kids at his library, where many of you sent him postcards. He thanked me again for passing the word on my blog, and I said I would thank you all again too, so thank you my friends.
Gregg is standing next to his old friend Sandy. They used to be in the same Little League team together way back when.
This is another friend William. He and his wife dress up as Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus every Christmas for the local kids. William is a great guy and is very kind because anything my in-laws ever need any help with, he is always there to give a helping hand. He'll bring his truck over or any equipment my father-in-law might need to do whatever project that needs to get done. Truly one of those people you are very happy to have as a neighbor and friend because he is about one of the nicest people around.
Here is Elle Marie again. I just love her white ribbon. She slept practically the whole time.
These family picnics have been been going on for well over 30 years, and the whole neighborhood is invited. It's a good chance for us to see people we haven't seen since the last one. We used to live right around the corner for a couple of years back in the 80's when Gregg was stationed out of Norfolk, but we've been coming back and forth for as long as I have been married and Gregg grew up in the area. When his parents moved to this neighborhood he went off to the naval academy in Annapolis. Below you can see a friend of ours playing with his kids, two year old twins, a boy and a girl. Their mom dressed them up for the 4th of July, in red, white and blue. When I first met their daddy he was 13 years old and Gregg has known him since he was three. His parents, also good friends of ours, met Gregg's mom and dad when the husbands were stationed on the same ship together (Gregg's dad was navy too) and they've been like family ever since.

What a wonderful, sunny, beautiful day you had. I must say, that beard does give just the perfect Santa touch. He looks like he has a kind and gentle face also.

What a fun day. I like Gregg still having a friend from little league. I have a few and we still like to put on the gloves and play when we get together.

How nice they have a neighbor who is always there for them. That must be reassuring. Glad you had a great day, Denise, and that it was not humid.

Santa Claus is your neighbor?!! Cool!!!!
I can see why he plays Santa at Christmas and he sounds like an all around great person. Liked the family reunion photos, always like to see what other peoples reunion is like. It is a blessing that the camera was invented, so we could look back and enjoy that moment in time. Thanks for sharing your special day.
