Such beautiful creatures. There is concern here that some of our butterflies are decreasing in numbers. There was a butterfly count a couple of weeks ago. Not an easy task! I think the general public were asked to record how many they had seen and where during a particular day. A x

I can't decide which I love more, this gorgeous picture or Carl Sagan's quote! Both are just tremendous. The older I get, the more I realize how precious is our time here. Thanks for the reminder, and for something so beautifully visual to accentuate it!!

Very nice shot. I hoped to see these swallowtails a lot today and they flew away before i could get a shot.I went to the beach at a lake and saw 3 varieties in 15 minutes.
Beautiful shot -we don`t seem to have as many butterflies visiting our garden this year,no idea why,I have planted lots of nectar rich plants !
