Every now and again I get this little visitor on my back deck but it has been a while, maybe only the second time this year. He likes to scurry around picking up seed that has been dropped by the birds.

It is very hard to get photos of him because he moves like lightning. I've never seen an animal move so fast. He makes my eyes hurt trying to keep up with him. The photos are a little fuzzy because of it but I'm always glad to get anything.
If you click here it will take you to a page telling you about the different types of Chipmunks.

They sure are cute little buggars. I just took a pic of ours on the deck before reading your post. lol
'hugs from afar'
Awwww. . .they are so darn cute. Those little faces. Makes you want to hug them. If one could be that fast.
Cute visitor. :)
Mine has stopped visiting me.
I was going through my old photos last night and ran across some photos of chipmunks on our deck too. We thought they were so cute. Eventually however, they started burrowing under our porch foundations and walkway which caused the concrete walkway to cave it. They may be cute, but they can be a nuisance too.
They look a little like a cross between a squirrel and a mouse - only cuter, lol.
Aw, he's so cute. You did a good job getting photos of them, Denise.
They are so cute and they do move super fast. They steal all the bird seed on the ground, it is cite to see their pouches so full. Thank you for caring and have a nice week.
Cute shots my friend, love your Header, rain drops hitting the water.
I saw these little critters for the first time when I stayed with my aunt in the States ! I had never seen one before, they are sooooo cute ! I want one or two or three ...
They don't exist in Europe.
I would be in my element if I had those in my garden.
Adorable ! x
The Chippers are cute critters. Great captures, Denise! Maybe if the weather would stay warm you would see them more often?
very sweet, D

Oh, that is so cute. I'd love to see one!
i adored the focus of your shots...great! I know how much is difficult to photograph this animal..congrats
I guess you didn't use a flash. That would have scared him away for good.
The chipmunk is so adorable! I would love to meet one in person! :)
Wonderful pictures!

I wish we had chipmunks over here. We've got weasels but I doubt I'd be able to photograph one. They are very secretive, and very fast.
I like to watch their cheeks when they start filling up.
I like to watch the chipmunks too. We have plenty to watch in our yard. I counted four of them today! Nice pictures of your chippy!
What a little cutie! I would move fast too if I was that small. Amazing that you were able to catch up with him - great photos.
We now have three of them, first we only saw the one, but now two smaller ones are scurrying all over the place. I got a post-card off to Fl.
He is so cute! We saw some over in Muscatatuck, but I never got a good photo. I never see them where I live.
