The angry goose caper.....

Little did this particular goose know that his relaxing swim would soon be over. We were enjoying a very peaceful scene when we heard quite a cacophony of screeching on the hill next to the lake, a considerable distance from our friend here.

The noisy goose on the hill suddenly took flight and descended at great speed towards the usurper......

gaining speed, still screeching at high pitch.....

and flew right by these ladies who had an eye-level view of the angry goose.....

I didn't actually take a photo of him landing but wish I had as he skidded across the surface of the lake like a champion water-skier, sending the invader paddling like the dickens to the other side.

Territorial Goose 1, Invader 0.

Love your picture story. The photos of angry goose in flight are fantastic. I bet it was a male angry goose.

Super pictures, Denise. I'm amazed that you were able to keep up with the angry goose.

Just like people, huh! You must have a very fast camera. Mine takes a while between shots, alas!

Ha, that's one tough goose! Funny that the 2 ladies on the bench didn't seem at all disturbed by the action right in front of them.

Thanks for gorgeous pictures. The cherry blossoms in your later post are also beautiful

Well observed and a wonderful photo sequence. How strange, though, to have a solitary Canada goose - they seem to thrive in great company round here:-)

These are just so beautiful. We are not anywhere near this phase of spring yet here:( (just a few crocuses here and there so far).
