These are photos from our recent visit to see Celia and Gully. Gully is Gregg's Dad and Celia is Gully's wife and friend to both of us. They are practically newly-weds having been married for a couple of years now.
We drove down on Saint Patrick's Day and what greeted us when we arrived was a dinner of corned beef and cabbage and carrots, with a little southern mixed in as instead of soda bread Celia made us a specialty of hers, corn fritters, yum! The whole meal was delicious!
They moved into their home not so long ago and have done several renovations and additions. This was the first time we had seen this room as it had only just been completed. It is a sun room, a Florida Room we were told.
Outside there was also a brand new deck. It was lovely to sit outside as the weather has finally given us a break and we had relatively warm days while we were down there.
The evening we arrived it was positively balmy.....
and the sky was a pretty shade of blue with the most interesting clouds in the sky.
The next day the flooring had dried enough that they were able to add their furniture, and this is where they will be spending a lot of their time from now on I am sure.
We liked what they had done with it and thought it was a neat room.
Later on they had a couple of appointments to keep, so Gregg and I went to the beach and walked along the boardwalk. On our way back we stopped off at the store and we saw these pretty tulips which we took back for Celia.

What a nice sun room! I can see why they would be spending so much time there! We talked about adding a sun room / florida room onto our house. The cost was prohibitive. We opted instead for our picnic pavilion.
That sun room looks lovely, I would spend a lot of time in there also. Liked the pictures.

never been to Virginia Beach but I can see a trip there in the near future.....
