SkyWatch Friday

We were in Baltimore this past weekend and this is the view from our hotel window. The clock tower is called The Emerson-Bromo-Seltzer Tower and is on the National Register for Historic Places. It was modeled after the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence and was completed in 1911.

You can learn more about it here.

This building was directly across the street from our hotel. A rather wintry reflection from the setting sun can be seen in the windows.

Neat clock tower, I have not seen that in my trips there. I'll have to look next time. A very winter sky - so early this year.

that clock tower is wonderful! I especially like the 'bromoseltzer' where the numbers should be!

What grey, cloudy skies, Denise. Did they turn blue later?

What an interesting clock tower! I must say the sky does look wintry and dull. I bet it didn't stop you having a good time.

interesting - initially thought this was Siena or Florence; it looks a bit odd in Baltimore, tho

A tower that could be in Saltaire - those Italians get everywhere! Good to have that view from your hotel.
