For Olga

I have just heard from our blog friend Gill who hosts That British Woman and I want to thank her for letting me know about little Olga. You can read all about Olga and many other children like her if you click on her name. The link will take you to Gill's blog post where she provides this link to Reece's Rainbow, a very worthy organization that finds homes for children with Down's Syndrome.

Gill asks if we could tell as many readers as we can about Reece's Rainbow and I am happy to do so.

It is very nice for people to take interest in those born with Downs. I have worked with a number of them and find them to be really unique individuals, that warm my heart.Years back we used to place them in an institution and never try to educate them. Now I have seen one girl I worked with be a cheerleader and share many of the activities her fellow classmates did.

A lovely and important post. I used to run an adoption agency and had the privilege of placing several children with Down's Syndrome for adoption. At that time, where I live, there was a waiting list of people who wanted to adopt these beautiful children. I placed one child in a family who had adopted 3 children with Down's Syndrome after giving birth to one of their own.
