Watery Wednesday

We're having quite a heat wave along the East Coast, so I am making sure the water dish is full on the back deck, changing it frequently so that it doesn't get too hot to drink. This is how much I love my backyard friends. They provide me with hours of entertainment. It is the least I can do.

  12. Great shot Denise and you are right it's so important to keep water out for the wildlife in the summer. Very sweet post.

I have to tell you about my dream last night. I had brought some exotic birds inside to show friend (ok it's a dream and dreams are weird, I would NEVER do that even if I could). There was this very sweet little bird in my dream and when I showed him to my friends he didn't move. I realized he had died because I hadn't left water for him and in my dream everyone was looking at me like I was crazy not to know small birds had to have constant water (again, this is just a dream LOL). I woke up in a total panic to the reassuring sound of the birds in the birdbath on my deck. I must have water and heat on my mind, ha.

  20. I have just been out and replentished the water in the birdbaths here. You feel for the little critters who have to stay outside in the heat while we can put our feet up in the air conditioning. Your photos were wonderful.
