I passed this rather lovely dog patiently waiting for its human after I had gone shopping yesterday. You can enlarge the photo for better detail. The sun was behind him but I didn't feel like I could go up and ask him to pose in the other direction!
I hope he didn't have to wait too long. Just look at that face, adorable! If only he could speak.
"You might think I was sad from the expression on my face,
As if I were about to wail.
But honestly my friend, I would show you how happy I am,
If I wasn't sitting on my tail!"

Our dogs are more patient with us than we are with them sometimes.
I enlarged the picture so that I could the dog's face more clearly. I think that dog was asking you to take him home with you ;-)
Your little poem was...talking for him! If only he could speak....
I do hope it was a brief wait, what a great friend.
Hilarious poem and what a wonderful expression on that dog's face! So good of him not to jump out.
Cute dog! Lucky nobody stole him.
So loyal and patient he/she is. Lovely shot:)
He is cute but I'd be careful going close he might be guarding his humans truck.
How good was that dog. Waiting like that and all the distrations around. Likked your little vers. XXX Don
I agree - a very sweet face!
So sweet! What a well-behaved dog just longing for his humans to come back.
What a face on that pup! Totally adorable. Sweet poem too!
Have a great weekend. :D
Wow, it has been a while since my last visit, I remeber you from the sky watch days. Good shot of mans best friend, always loyal and loving.
This was my first encounter with a coyote in SNP and I go there often to photograph the whitetails. I hope he is still around next week when I am there for the rut.
It is a cute dog, great capture Denise.
They do enjoy a ride in the truck.
I never like to see dogs left in or near vehicles. It is sometimes a long wait for them.
A patient dog...
Lovely poem and shot, Denise :)
I agree with Diane, he might have been guarding the truck.
I had a little dog who would let anyone into the house, but wouldn't let her best friends into the car unless I was in there with her.
Good photo op for you, though, Denise. Adorable expression on the dog's face.

You couldn't pass up this shot! I love the look. It reminds me of a photo that I took of my daughter when she was a toddler looking over the edge of her crib...she gave the same look! :D
What a cute poem. I wonder if he was tied in the truck, if not what kept him from jumping out? Happy week-end.
this photo gave the smile of today. :)
Oh my, what behave doggy he is.
Sweet pup - wish I could take my cats with me.
He looks like a real sweetheart! Hope they came back quick.
What a great shot! Dogs can really wait patiently.
