Baby Cardinal

A baby cardinal kept me company today. It's hard to do any chores when such a precious little bird is visiting. There is always tomorrow for other things.
You can click on the photo to see him in more detail.

I meant to do my work today...
But a brown bird sang in the apple tree.
And a butterfly flitted across the field,
And all the leaves were calling me.
And the wind went sighing over the land,
Tossing the grasses to and fro,
And a rainbow held out its shining hand...
So what could I do but go?

The baby cardinal is so cute. That poem says it all, except there should be an added line about peoples' blogs calling to me!

Yep, I'd have to set aside a few chores and grab my camera also.

Hi Denise, I love the way you made your collage... You framed it well---and it's gorgeous. I love the black space behind --and the small photos spread out. So many mosaics are so busy, I can't see any of the pictures well.... Beautiful job ---and of course, you had a great model... Love those Cardinals!!!
Hugs,
Betsy

I see a young cardinal. Almost a baby. Learning all about the world. I had one here last year but no babies here this year.

I saw one this morning, it had to be a baby, it was so small. By the time I got ready to tell Abe, it was gone. sorry I haven't been around for a while, been so busy. Have a great summer.

The mosaic is wonderful to look at, the poem expresses how you must have felt. I always love to watch the hummingbirds in our area.

Denise, that is one of my favorite poems! When I first moved to the Tucson area and started my blog I re-wrote the poem to suit the Sonoran desert! How fun to see you publish it here!
