Sky Watch Season # 4 Episode # 51

We found this very interesting 'straw man' at the side of The Botanic Garden in Washington DC.

The last time we were here there were very large world globes, which I thought were going to be a permanent fixture but I realized that they change their displays every year.

All very much in keeping with trying to keep our earth 'green' for future generations to enjoy.

This rather lovely display reminded me of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. There are plant boxes overflowing with greenery on different levels.

It was a lovely display and photos don't really do it justice. I hope if you will be visiting Washington DC this year, that you will head to the Botanic Garden to see for yourselves.

Thank you Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy, Louise and Sylvia for hosting SkyWatch Friday.

This is certainly a place I would love to visit. Really beautiful!
Maybe the Strawman was taking a straw poll being that it was Washington. Haha!

These are fantastic new displays at the botanical garden. The straw man and wind mill are great. The arched one is wonderful with the layers of plants as are the layered columns. I enjoyed this very much.

I have never seen a straw man like that one before - except as Christmas ornaments.

I would love to see that botanic garden in person.

Those plant boxes are wonderful but sure would be hard to water! I guess the strawman is supposed to be scary - for birds, anyway!

Denise: Wonderful captures from DC, very tricky the way you got the capitol into that one.

Another of your wonderful posts. The straw man looks like he has a nest on his head. and those lovely wooden plant installations have a decidedly Chinese look about them.

This is my fifth try to leave you a comment!
