Sky Watch Season # 4 Episode # 36

I didn't photograph any skies this week, so I am relying on two from my vacation folder. These were taken on a whale-watching boat trip off Waikiki during December 2008.

Thank you Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy, Louise and Sylvia for hosting SkyWatch Friday.

I've never been on a whale watching trip. Looks like you really had a beautiful day for it. It's been cloudy and rainy over here this winter.

Denise, nice shots of the Waikiki skies. Did you see the whales, I had heard there were great sightings off the coast of Maui.

I have seen dolphins from the shore, but not whales from a boat. It must have been a wonderful boat trip. Beautiful clouds.

Nice pictures of the sky. My brother-in-law tells us that we will arrive in Hawaii too late to see the whales.

Denise, you must have a very steady hand or else the waves weren't very rocky. Your photos are not topsy turvy!

Hi Denise. Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such a nice comment. I'm so glad I got in on this post as Hawaii is one of my favorite places on earth. We have never made it over to whale watch but it is definitely on my bucket list. Your photos are lovely.

awesome skies! My sister and brother in law were just in HI a couple weeks ago and said they could hear the whales while swimming in the ocean - soooo cool!

Thanks for all the lovely comments. We did get to see the whales but they weren't as close as I would have liked. Still, it was a thrill when we first spotted them. Next time I would be sure to take some binoculars but never thought to pack any.

Both are wonderful. I recall whale watching in the rain and it was great! Our guides said we saw many more whales than usual since 'rain' doesn't both them in the least ;-)
Hugs and blessings,
