Skywatch Friday, Season 4, Episode 38

Sharing a few sky shots around Washington DC.

I haven't been up to the top of the Washington Monument in years, so long ago that I can barely remember the views. I was a young mother in those days and my mind was elsewhere, not having the time for photography as I do now. I think it is time to see those views again.

This is a statue I posted before. The other I took from the passenger side of the car as we were driving by. This time were were on foot. The plaque reads "Jose Artigas, Father of the Independence of Iruguay."

The Stars and Stripes was flying on the top of a building and it looked really beautiful against that blue sky. Not sure what the smaller flag is underneath. It isn't the flag for DC, maybe of an organization occupying the building?

Have a great weekend everyone,
and to those who are celebrating it,
Happy Easter!

Thank you Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy, Louise and Sylvia for hosting SkyWatch Friday.

Thank you for sharing these beautiful pictures of my old hometown! They make me long to be there, now that the cherry blossoms are at their peak and spring has finally come to stay, hopefully.

Happy Easter!

Beautiful photographs. DC is on my bucket list. I don't feel the need to climb the Washington monument. I'm totally OK to look at it from the outside.

lovely blue skies. The one you shot from the car is excellent. The monument slap bang in the middle of two naked trees.

I used to get to DC for work, but it always seemed to be in winter. But I loved to walk the mall and visit the museums when I could get away from meetings. - Margy

Interesting shots Denise. I see the irony in the first shot with "Constitution Ave" and "evacutaion route" on the same sign!

Happy Easter!

All of them are lovely. Springtime in DC. How lucky. Brings back memories from the time I spent there in 1982! Love your header shot too. Such vivid colors.
