The statue against the sky is wonderful Denise; but those last two shots are unique - loved them!
I liked the detail in the last two shots too!
Wonderful blue skies and monument.Great shots Denise!Happy weekend.
the beautiful blue skies let the statue take centre stage. Very nice.
Beautifully captured! The magnolias on E Street NW, on that green a bit north of the statue by now probably are over the peek bloom. I always loved that area.
You will find Simon Bolivar's likeness in many of my relatives' homes. That is because my wife's ancestry is primarily Bolivian. He was president of Bolivia for a while, and the country was named after him.I gaze longingly at those blue skies. We are under a whole week of clouds.
Terrific post, beautiful captures, lovely blue skies and I love the detail in your last two shots! Hope you have a great weekend, Denise!Sylvia
Like the closeup shots, you captured all the details.
I love the different shots of the subject and all against the bluest of skies.
Denise, the fun thing about a sculpture is that there are a million angles for viewing and photographing it. Great job. Thanks for stopping by my blog. You have a great weekend. Joann
Fantastic! Even though I've been there quite a few times, I had no idea there was a Simon Bolivar monument in DC!
I don't believe that I have seen this statue before. All of your photographs are good; however, I especially liked the last two because of the detail shown in each.
Great shots. I love the last two especially. We used to have a statue of Simon Bolivar in downtown Tulsa given to the people of Tulsa by the Venezuelan owned Citgo Petroleum. When they left town, the city put the statue up for a while and now its at a different location.
Great post, Denise. Fantastic captures of the statue against the blue sky. Thanks for sharing
The skill and artitry needed to creat such a statue amazes me.
What intricate detail on a wonderful sculpture. I love statuary!
Simon Bolivar was like the George Washington of South America...Neat post, Denise.Hugs,Betsy
Wow, a lot of care has been taken about the detailing on that sculpture! Nice shots!Pixellicious Photos
A great statue and I love the building behind it. Your detailed shots and blue sky background are very good.
I too like the last 2 shots. There is so much to see in DC and most inspirational. When we lived in Virginia and my Mom and I needed a pick-me-up we always went to DC and it made us feel better.
I guess it's appropriate that DC has statues from different countries. This one is handsome and taken on such a beautiful day too! Happy SWF and have a great weekend!
Great shots! I love that last one of the foot! Your header is so pretty, the purple just leaps out and grabs my attention!
such detail thanks makes me want to be in DC, I love DC
Very nice statues. Have a wonderful week-end.
