  5. Beautifully captured!

The magnolias on E Street NW, on that green a bit north of the statue by now probably are over the peek bloom. I always loved that area.

  6. You will find Simon Bolivar's likeness in many of my relatives' homes. That is because my wife's ancestry is primarily Bolivian. He was president of Bolivia for a while, and the country was named after him.

I gaze longingly at those blue skies. We are under a whole week of clouds.

  10. Denise, the fun thing about a sculpture is that there are a million angles for viewing and photographing it. Great job. Thanks for stopping by my blog. You have a great weekend. Joann

  11. Fantastic! Even though I've been there quite a few times, I had no idea there was a Simon Bolivar monument in DC!

  12. I don't believe that I have seen this statue before. All of your photographs are good; however, I especially liked the last two because of the detail shown in each.

  13. Great shots. I love the last two especially. We used to have a statue of Simon Bolivar in downtown Tulsa given to the people of Tulsa by the Venezuelan owned Citgo Petroleum. When they left town, the city put the statue up for a while and now its at a different location.

  20. I too like the last 2 shots. There is so much to see in DC and most inspirational. When we lived in Virginia and my Mom and I needed a pick-me-up we always went to DC and it made us feel better.
