Yet another series of photographs from the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The Kelp Forest Exhibit was amazing and beautiful.
This was the only decent close-up of a fish I could get. He is a Blue Rockfish (Sebastes Mystinus). Large groups of Blue Rockfish congregate in the kelp forest. They scoop up jellies and other plankton that drift in from the open sea.
Thank you 2sweetnsaxy for hosting this great meme.
Monterey's Aquarium is my favorite, but looking at your wonderful watery photos makes we want to visit the one in Long Beach because it's closer to my home. Hugs and blessings,
Wow Denise - very cool shots! I was reminded looking at these of a partial line from the Flipper show years ago - 'Flipper lives in a world full of wonder...under the sea' That closeup of the fish is awesome and to catch the school of fish is very neat.
That is one beautiful Aquarium. Your shots are great too. The last time I took shots in an aquarium most of them were blurred because the shutter is open longer and causes camera shake. So you did well girl!
These are great captures of the big tank. It is mesmerizing to stand and watch the fish (except when there are a lot of screaming kids, but the kids are just being entusiastic which is good.
Gorgeous series of shots wih lovely bluegreen colored water. Makes me think of lovely snorkling trips I´ve done. The translation worked well Fun! Have a great wednesday.
Those a fabulous photos of a very nice time that you must have had. The light and aqua color is so beautiful against your black background...I love the glisten on that school of fish at the bottom.
just looking at the aquarium de-stresses me.. you have a great capture in one big fish here, the blue rockfish.. it must a huge aquarium to have all these fishes!
Your post icon just stood out on my sidebar, so had to come see this! My gosh..this is so neat- fabulous Denise!! My son was flashing his underwater camera he picked up not too long ago. Would be so fun..and a nice break from traipsing around my yard! ha..but this exhibit- wow! I can't believe the hight of that kelp and the fact they grow 10" a day!! - gorgeous!! Well this reminds me of Don Knotts- "I wish I were a fish" Excellent photos Denise, thanks-
