Camera Critters

Our son was having car problems and while he was at work we dropped his Dad's van off to help him out. On our way back we were at a traffic light when I looked over and saw a hawk sitting in a small tree at the side of the road. This is all I could get before the traffic light turned green.

Camera Critters was created by Misty Dawn. Thank you Misty!

  1. You got a great picture of the hawk, Denise... I never 'see' hawks much around here --but when they get near, all of my backyard birds totally disappear....

  2. You were lucky to get that shot Denise. I rarely see hawks and even more rarely "just sitting"! Ax

  3. That is such a huge bird. I think we've got some small hawks here... I think, but I've never actually seen it.

  4. Great photos--i have never been able to get a good shot of a bird of prey!

  5. Wow ... that's an amazing capture especially given the circumstances. It's also a great reminder why keeping our cameras at the ready is wise. I got carried away while sharing 'tamale-making' at Sacred Ruminations yesterday afternoon and evening (Molly's featured there because she went with me this year) ... so this morning I'm trying to catch up on blog visits before the day actually begins ... just a couple of blessings of this retired life ;-)
    Hugs and blessings

  6. Betsy from Tennessee, thank you. I have been seeing quite a few of them but I'm not able to take photos as we are usually traveling somewhere on a busy road.

Strawberry Jam Anne, I was. This is very rare for me too, at least to be able to get a photo. I'm glad I carry my camera around with me.

Kay, I'd love to know what kind of hawks you have over there.

Michelloui, thank you. It's difficult to get them. I was lucky.

storyteller, thank you. He was very cooperative I must say and I agree with you about the camera. I am rarely without it having missed photo ops in the past and feeling like kicking myself because I didn't have one. Your 'tamale-making' sounds like fun. I will be over when I get back later on today. Hugs and blessings to you too.

  7. He looks a cold hawk. Well captured!

  8. You are a fabulous photographer dear Denise, congrats, it's amazing!

  9. Nice photo of the hawk - especially one taken on a traffic stop! I'm impressed.

  10. Great sighting and capture of the hawk. Most of my hawk sightings are while driving, I see them sitting in trees along the road.

  11. Great capture Denise. He looks like a large one. We have a lot of them in the area because of all the fields but they usually stay out of camera range. I did get a halfway decent shot the other day, I'll post it soon.
Hope you are having a great weekend.
