A touch of nostalgia....

This photo is of our son when we were visiting family in England in the summer of 1984. He was five and we were in the Malvern Hills of Worcestershire. I orchestrated the photo a little. You can barely see the tiny Star Wars figure clutched in his left hand. I was trying to get him and the wildflowers in the same photo but Brad was more interested in running around playing Star Wars. When I asked him to look at the flowers he stopped for a couple of seconds, I took my shot quickly and he again went off running. He was happy and so was I. I got this photo.

Nature Boy

There was a boy...
A very strange enchanted boy.
They say he wandered very far, very far
Over land and sea.
A little shy and sad of eye
But very wise was he,
And then one day,
One magic day he passed my way,
And While we spoke of many things,
Fools and Kings,
This he said to me,
The greatest thing you'll ever learn
Is just to love and be loved in return.

A speck of time. When you get as old as I am or as old as I sometimes feel, these moments are even more important. They jog your memory. Very nice photo.

Léia, thank you and I am trying to change my header a little every other day.

Patty, thank you.

Yogi, thank you and isn't that the truth?

Strawberry Jam Anne, this area has a very special place for us. We spent many times up on the Malverns. Merry Christmas Anne and have A Very Happy New Year.

Abraham Lincoln, those memories seem to be flooding back the older I get :)

Sunny, it certainly is.

John Theberge, you are so very welcome John, I meant what I say, I love your book. Yes, I think our son only wishes he had time to smell the flowers but I daresay his parents will remind him every now and again, as parents do :)

jeannette stgermain, thank you and yes, I think he will cherish that poem one day.

Janie, ah the Star Wars Days, we spent many a time watching their movies and playing with those little figures. Merry Christmas and A Very Happy New Year to you and your family yoo!

Lovely photo of your little boy. Does he still look like you now he's not so little? I love that song too.

Regina, thank you. Yes I thought you would know what I mean. Glad you enjoyed my post.

jabblog, thank you too. People tell me he favors me, but then I see his Dad, and I also see my Dad. He has certain mannerisms, facial expressions, hand movements, that remind me of his grandpa so much.

Thank you for stopping by everyone. Always love it.
