TODAY'S FLOWERS # 72

This is our last TODAY'S FLOWERS of 2009 and as we come to the end of one year and are at the beginning of another, I thought I would share a video I made with all my favorite flower photos taken over the last 12 months.

video

I always look forward to Sundays for so many reasons, and one of them is because it will be time to visit everyone's flowers. It really doesn't matter what language we speak. We all enjoy our flowers and at the risk of repeating myself, our love of them speaks to us in many languages and is a great way of bringing us closer together.

I am grateful for the amazing friendship I have made in this blogging world,
and from my family to yours we would like to wish you all
A Very Happy New Year!

~

A happy New Year! Grant that I
May bring no tear to any eye
When this New Year in time shall end
Let it be said I've played the friend,
Have lived and loved and labored here,
And made of it a happy year.

~Edgar Guest~

Today's Flowers was created with grateful thanks to Luiz Santilli Jr. Thank you Luiz.

I love the angle on the passion flower. There's something about the lotus blossom that always makes me gaze at it for a long time. It's such a simple flower and yet the subtle color and shape draws me.

Somebody is blowing off firecrackers right now at 9:51 PM. Good grief! I need to look at more flowers to calm my nerves.

What a nice idea and a beautiful video and music of your favorite flowers. There's a lot to explore on your blog, I will return. Thanks for visitng my blog and becoming a follower. I enjoy learning more about your home country, esp. the Midlands. Don't know what part of Virginia you live in, but I lived in Winchester for about a year. I thought certain areas, especially around Upperville with the stone fences, were very similar to England. Wishing you a very Happy New Year as well!!

gigihawaii, glad you enjoyed it.

Kay, when I saw this passion flower it was the first time I had ever seen one. What an amazing flower. Oh no, not firecrackers, so early!

midwesttomidlands, it's fun for me to see an American's viewpoint of the area I grew up in. I live half an hour from Washington DC and half an hour from the Shenandoah, and I know Upperville well.

Carver, thank you and the same to you.

guild-rez, thank you, Happy New Year Gisela!

Digital Flower Pictures, thank you and the same to you.

Grace Olsson, I am very happy you found Today's Flowers too. Many of us feel the same way I am sure. Happy New Year!

Yogi, you too and thank you. ♪♪♪ said...

Betsy from Tennessee, you too Betsy and yes the snow might not have all disappeared but we had a relatively warmer day yesterday and it rained hard during the night. This morning we were amazed at how little snow there is compared to the way it was. Role on those new flowers and yes, yeah!!! Hugs, Denise

imac, thank you.

Quilt Works, thank you too. I will be visiting you asap.

Martha in PA, you're very welcome and so happy you enjoyed the poem.

Nance, thanks Nance and yes where did that year go? So fast!!!
