SkyWatch Friday

First post of 2010.

Photos taken above and around The Sculpture Garden in Washington, DC.

It took us a few seconds to realize that this 'tree' was one of the pieces on exhibit. It is simply entitled "Graft, 2008-2009" by Roxy Paine, made out of stainless steel and concrete. You can read about it here.

There will be more information and photos of 'my bunny' in tomorrow's post.

Thank you Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy, Louise and Sylvia for hosting SkyWatch Friday.

  9. Interesting post; I didn't know of this sculpture garden in Washington, D.C. I'll have to put it on my list of things to see next time we visit. We have visited D.C. many times over the past several years. It seems we find something new to see at each visit.

  10. Happy 2010!
That tree is so beautiful - it's a shame it will never bear leaves!
As for the bunny - gorgeous, but might he be a hare?

  23. Yogi, thank you and you too.

Tes, thank you, you too and sending hugs from N. Virginia.

Xavi, how kind of you. the same to you.

gigihawaii, HAUOLI MAKAHIKI HOU Gigi! I had the same reaction when I saw it for the first time.

Maria, Happy New Year to you, and thank you for your kind words.

Linda Reeder, that is so interesting because when we were in Seattle I also saw another sculpture identical to the one we have in the garden, it was shaped like a gigantic old typewriter eraser. I wonder if you have seen it on your travels and what the connection is between our two cities, I also wonder if there are other duplicates? I see a google search in my future ;)

Patty, thank you and the same to you.

Gill - That British Woman, Happy New Year and thank you.

  24. Hi Denise, Happy New Year to you and may it be a great one. That tree is just stunning, a real show stopper. But I also love the hare and am sure I have seen him pictured somewhere before.

  25. I forgot to click on the button to subscribe to comments on this post, so I just saw your invitation to show me the sculpture garden. I will most definitely take you up on that offer. It would be wonderful to meet you sometime.

  26. What a fantastic garden. I love the sculpture. Happy New Year!

  27. Brit Gal Sarah, Happy New Year to you too. I think our bunny is pretty popular and does have a twin in another city.

Linda (PA_shutterbug), it will be fun to get together Linda. I look forward to that day.

Carver, it is an amazing area. Happy New Year!

  28. Hi, Merely returned here to advise you regarding Mobile Monopoly. It is a great technique and WILL make you money, especially seeing as you own a website. Take a quick look at their video, the strategy is about using Mobile Advertising which is brand new and an unexposed marketplace where you can make thousands by doing hardly any work. I assure you that after you watch their short video it will change you and it will start making you think.
