Thank you Klaus, Sandy, Ivar, Wren, Fishing Guy and Louise for hosting SkyWatch Friday. Friday’s are a time for us all to get together and look at each other’s sky photos from all over the world. If you want to join in you can click right here.
We saw something that drew our interest as we walked over to the Smithsonian's Castle. There was a statue that we had never noticed before. It was part of a collection that belonged to the Hirshorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. If you looked over that wall you would be able to see the garden below where there are several other sculptures. This one is made of stainless steel, a life-sized stainless steel piece called Kiepenkerl, made by Jeff Koons in 1987.

A visit here makes me realize just how small a world I live in. Even your skies seem bigger.
Great shots. I love the SS sculpture. I'm not sure I've ever seen one of a person before.
I enjoyed your pictures, they were very nice and interesting. Hope you are having a nice week.
Lovely shots of the castle against the sky!
I had to look up the "Peddler" to see what he was all about. Interesting piece of sculpture.
These are wonderful photos, Denise. I showed this to my daughter, and she remembers seeing these castles when she visited in 2005. Great angle shots!
What a beautiful statue. I love the rooftops of the wonderful buildings-- and of course the gorgeous skies. Now where's the surprise in that? Your posts are always top notch.
The castle used to house the Air and Space Museum many years ago when i was a kid. I love the Hirshorn. Great visit!

Hi Denise,
That stainless sculpture was a nice reflective surface for sky and surroundings. I don't think I've ever seen a stainless steel sculpture! Your architectural photos framed by the sky were so interesting.
Denise,
What a great collection of captures. Beautiful
Have a great weekend Barbara
Thanks for visiting everyone, and leaving all your nice comments. Always enjoy reading them.
Denise: What a wonderful series for SWF.
I'm always amazed at how statues speak to us, and grab our attention ... it's always a mind cleansing experience to spend time with a statue ... even if for just a moment.
