I bought a new bird feeder, yes because it looked pretty. I filled it with thistle seed, took the old feeder down and put this one up. That was days ago and I have not seen one bird on my new feeder. I was hoping to attract among others the Goldfinch but they apparently are flying all over the place and landing on every other feeder but this one. The other feeder is in a different spot with regular bird seed in it. They haven't been to that one either. Oh where oh where have you pretty birds gone? I miss you! I'm going to have to get the old grotty feeder back aren't I? Even the Grackles are ignoring the new one for crying out loud.Sunday, April 19, 2009
Birdies, where are you?

Strange, indeed. I can't imagine birds passing up a free meal! Maybe you should hang the old and the new together, in the old place.
Funny ...but i think it would be a kind of coincidence! This new bird feeder is so cute!
Wait a little bit more! And I think Jan gave you a good idea!
Kind Regards

You're funny!! I love your captioned photos! I guess you'd better hang the old one back up.
Wonder if they really don't like it?
New trendy restaurant in town? Should we try it, looks expensive.
I'm sure that they will figure it out.
Odd .. but if the squirrels dont like it, it seems like its a winner .. sort of .. maybe your birds dont take to change quickly
You make me smile! Funny story! If I were a bird, I would favour the new one!
It's such a pretty feeder! Tell them to get used to it! I can't tell in the photo....does it have perches on it or just meant for hanging? Some times birds are slow to change, but goldfinches usually eat anywhere!
Gee, I'd be all over that if I was a feathered little critter. That's a mighty nice feeder!
This one is the thistle feeder? I can't see if there are perches or just the wire. Goldfinch can cling to the wire and even hang unside down for some of the thistle feeders but they are very shy and tentative and it may take a while. The most important thing about a feeder is that you can clean it properly and that it doesn't present an opportunity to harm any birds. So many feeders made are so inappropriate as being dangerous or not easy to clean. None of my feeders are 'pretty', the pretty ones are in the basement now as I found them to be impractical...What does the other feeder look like?
hilarious comments from your friends.Sandy
I have a devil squirrel that lives here!
hahaha
so funny!
This a very funny post. Even the birds have their own taste buds. Are they picky?
I think the feeder is very pretty. Dumb birds. I'd eat out of it. (I think maybe you have spoiled your birds a bit?)
LOL! to the animal captions. I'm sure they just have to get used to the new one. Don't worry, they'll come back.

Please keep us updated on what happens, whether the birds return.

that is strange isnt it. maybe they liked the other one if they had their smells on it or something! who knows!
It is so pretty the new one but no fun if no birds, maybe they only have to get use to it...?

Hehehehe this is a fun and funny post.
Don't worry they will come to the new feeder. Just be patient.
