These photos were taken while on a boat off shore looking back at Waikiki in Oahu, Hawaii at the end of last year.

  4. It must have been pretty warm since I can't see anyone with a shirt on. lol!

Really interesting viewing all the houses on the hill. I've never been to Hawaii so I didn't know it was like that.

  11. Hello Denise
Thanks for the memories of several trips we have had to Hawaii (Oahu and some of the other islands)

The Pink Palace is a fabulous hotel - I had my birthday on our first visit and my 'treat' was to spend one night there.
We moved from the affordable apartment we'd had for the week across the road to the Royal Hawaiin for that one night before coming home.
    Couldn't afford any more lol
    Take care
    Cathy

  12. So, did you get to sit outdoors at the Royal Hawaiian's Mai Tai Bar and have (what else??) a Mai Tai -- decorated with an orchid?

  24. Hi everyone, thank you so much for dropping in and leaving such nice comments. Always appreciated.

To answer your question The Right Blue, they were renovating this time round and the outside patio was closed off, but I remember drinking a Pink Paradise on a previous trip and yes a Mai Tai on another, complete with those beautiful orchids on top of the drink. I hope to repeat that experience next time around.

Have a great weekend everyone, and again thanks so much for stopping by.

  25. I have stayed at the Royal Hawaiian, it is a one of a kind place. I love the contrast of it compared to all the cloned hi-rise hotels around it.
