When we came to the Elephant enclosure we found it was bath-time.
"Our keepers walk them, they play lots of games, they have lots of toys, and it's very interesting and stimulating for the elephants" I read that in a newspaper article on line. That's what I like to hear. If they have to be in a zoo you want these beautiful animals to be happy and they certainly seemed to be enjoying their bath.

You know... that enclosure doesn't look much changed since I was little. I guess we really should try going to the zoo again. We haven't been there in such a long time. Chicago has such huge incredible zoos.
Sweet pictures of my favorite animal.
Although they may be enjoying their bath it saddens me to see these beautiful animals enclosed.
I adore elephants..like April they are my favorite too.
Elephants are such amazing animals. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Wonderful creatures - always love to see them. Seemed to be enjoying bath time.

I like elephants. They show almost human characteristics, like mourning over a dead child/calf. They also welcome a newborn calf by trumpeting loudly.
Nice photos! Thanks for sharing!
I have long been fasinated with elephants...maybe in my next life I will be an elephant caretaker.
I love the asian elephants and I appreciate your sharing these photos.
happy weekend!
Hello All,
I live in N. Virginia and am originally from India where I grew up with elephant rides. Went to south pacific costa rica and started a humpback whale and dolphin tour business. Now looking at starting an elephant farm at a location close to a beach. Any ideas would be welcome.
Regards
