Today's Flowers

Today’s Flowers is a lovely meme created by Luiz Santilli Jr. and now managed by Santilli and Denise BC. Please click on the icon above to see other wonderful flowers and if you want to, join in the fun by posting your own.

Back to one of my favorite supermarkets today. Whenever I am there I treat myself to a bouquet of flowers. This week I chose Red Rover Mums. I found the following information about them on line. "Red Rover mums are a disbud type mum with a single flower head per stem which measure over 3 feet in length. They are very popular from late summer thru fall. Red Rovers work well in arrangements with other Chrysanthemums, or in fall arrangements and bouquets. They are considered a medium mass flower with a vase life of one to two weeks depending on bud stage and environmental conditions." I hope mine last for at least two weeks. The last bouquet did.

  5. Perfect choice, Denise. . .and I love how you photographed the back of the flowers too.
Thanks for your kind words about my writing. I agree, and am learning the hard way, that it doesn't pay to cling to material possessions, i.e. cars. We purchased our first new car in 25 yrs in June & on Aug. 1 I was hit and need a new bumper=$500 deductible, and it wasn't even my fault. Another lesson there...to let go anyway? hmmm
    Have a great week!

  7. My wife is from Belgium, and I am surprised whenever we visit there how important a part of the summer landscape flowers are. That may have something to do with it being grayer and cloudier there. The flowers really make a difference.

  33. Gorgeous color! Thanks for stopping by my blog. When I read your profile, I had to smile. My husband is a Brit--grown up in Lancashire, served in the Royal Navy. We married almost seven years ago, and he just voted in his first US election. He, too, is my soul mate.

By the way, the rings in the photo belong to my niece from Rochdale.
